Caterpillars build walls around them, then they sit, and dissolve into a filthy, God-awful mess of their own making.
They stay in their own ugliness until they’ve absorbed every bit.
Then, slowly, they begin to rebuild. They turn their biggest weaknesses into their greatest strengths. Out of the depths of their sorrow, they learn to carry on.
They persevere through trials and challenges that would crush any other animal.
They learn to love the parts of themselves other people tell them are unlovable. They know that behind the mess they’re creating, lies a thing of real beauty.
When they’re ready, when they’ve learned every lesson they need to learn, they transform into something new, and they emerge from their cocoon, a beautiful, majestic creation, a part of the Song of the Universe, a spark of the divine, an inspiration to everyone around them, an endless source of beauty, love, and joy.
But the part that keeps getting overlooked: every butterfly starts life as a caterpillar.
Every.
Single.
One.
Including you.
So if you’re a caterpillar…
Be a caterpillar.
